Where did we come from?
Gumnut Childcare Centre is a privately owned business with a purpose to provide early education and care that is tailored to the natural development of your child. To achieve this, we do things differently.
From our humble beginnings within the Lithgow Community our team of passionate educators are committed to providing careful attention to all tasks and relationships.
Our curriculum is designed with the aim of building confident and active learners. Using holistic approaches to education, we combine the learning experiences to foster the social and emotional development of young children.
Our Beliefs
At Gumnut Child Care Centre, we believe that children are confident, competent and resourceful learners. We appreciate and foster the individuality of all children. As a Childcare or Early Learning Centre we appreciate and foster the individuality of all children, acknowledge the differences of individual and cultural diversity of each child and to provide stimulating activities associated with these.
Through our play-based curriculum diverse opportunities are provided to engage children in meaningful play. Utilising both spontaneous and planned opportunities it builds upon children’s learning to develop their knowledge and skills enabling them to grow to their full potential.
Our families rely on us as an early learning centre to provide a caring and happy environment where their children can experience the wonders of nature and discover the joys of learning through play
Our Goals

Our integrated indoor/outdoor curriculum is child-directed and seeks to engage children in meaningful learning experiences. Our experience has found this to be the most effective method by getting them excited about learning and confident to take on their formal educational journey.
